Magical moments

A reconstruction of University of Pennsylvania's College Hall, in a magical, atmospheric winter setting. Done for the SIG lab's Holiday Card.

Maya and Redshift. 9 million polygons, hand modeled. All materials and textures are procedural, except the sky.

Specular only lights emphasize window's reflection.

Progress animation.

Specific bounce cards were added to emphasize atmosphere.

Each stone is hand placed and modeled. A displacement shader procedurally adds snow to them.

All roof tiles and stones are modeled and placed by hand. Materials take advantage of color ids for randomization.
